Dresner Advisory Services Publishes 2021 Business Intelligence Competency Center Market Study
NASHUA, NH, July 29, 2021 - Dresner Advisory Services today published the 2021 Business Intelligence Competency Center Market Study, part of its Wisdom of Crowds series of research. A Business Intelligence (BI) Competency Center is a group within an organization charged with defining, delivering, documenting, and promoting best-practice BI and analytical solutions.
The 8th annual BI Competency Center Market Study examines the goals and functions of the Business Intelligence Competency Center (BICC), including BICC success; organization and reporting structure; longevity; staffing, skills, and activities; and budget/funding.
According to the report, a majority of BICCs are between one and five years old, and the BICC reporting structure most often rolls up to IT, Strategic Planning, and Finance.
Analytical model development is the most prevalent BICC activity, followed by business consulting, database design and management, and application development. Multiple skills are assigned to the BICC, led by business analysts and data integration engineers.
“Respondents in organizations with a BICC report very high confidence in the value of their programs and projects, and feel more successful with BI than the broader audience,” said Howard Dresner, founder and chief research officer. “Data-driven organizations place more value on the BICC.”
Wisdom of Crowds® research is based on data collected on usage and deployment trends, products, and vendors. Users in all roles and throughout all industries contributed to provide a complete view of realities, plans, and perceptions of the market. For more information visit www.dresneradvisory.com
