2016 Systems Integrator Market Study Report
Our latest report provides an in-depth look at the important role systems integrators take in the delivery of business intelligence (BI), advanced analytics, and planning and budgeting solutions. It discusses the attitudes and behaviors of organizations that engage systems integrators (SIs) and their estimation of the industrys performance.
A systems integrator, or consultancy, is a person or company that specializes in assembling component subsystems into a whole and ensuring that those subsystems function together. SIs may work in many fields but the term is generally used in the information technology (IT) field, the defense industry, or in media.
In some areas, our research shows alignment with what many have thought about SIs and their customers, specifically the driving value of expertise within an external consulting organization, said Bill Hostmann, research fellow at Dresner Advisory Services and the reports primary author. Other findings were less intuitive, such as those showing the high performance of small and mid-sized SIs, and the important role the BI competency center plays in engaging with SIs.
